Lyrics :

You know Dasher and Dancer, and Prancer and Vixen,
Comet and Cupid, and Donner and Blitzen,
But do you recall, the most famous reindeer of all?

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Had a very shiny nose,
And if you ever saw it,
You could even say it glows.

All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names;
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
Santa came to say:
"Rudolph with your nose so bright,
Wont you guide my sleigh tonight?"
Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee,
"Rudolph the red-nosed Reindeer,
You'll go down in history.

Christmas time in England. The food we eat and about our Christmas traditions.

Hello. It is almost Christmas,. I am going to tell you what we eat at Christmas time and when. I will also tell you about our Christmas traditions.

Perhaps you can tell us about the food you eat and when? Please tell us about your Christmas traditions too.

We spend Christmas Eve with family and or friends. We do not have a special meal but eat things typical at parties or Christmas types of food. Some people just have a nice cooked meal.

On Christmas day - 25th December we eat our special Christmas dinner. Here are some traditional Christmas foods.

We might eat Pate, prawn cocktail or soup as a starter

Pate

Prawn cocktail

soup

For the main course we normally eat roast turkey, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, sprouts, carrots, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy and sausages wrapped in bacon which we call pigs wrapped in blankets.

On Christmas Eve, the children are very excited and go to bed quite early as they want Father Christmas to come. They pin up a stocking by the fireplace or at the bottom of their bed. They leave him a mince pie and a glass of whiskey or a glass of milk and some carrots for Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and the other Reindeer called Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder (or Donner), and Blitzen.

Father Christmas, Santa, as we also call him, travels on his sleigh, drawn by his reindeer and carries lots of toys and presents in a sack. His reindeer land on the roof and Santa comes down the chimney to get into the house to leave presents. He leaves presents in a stocking and by the fireplace, by the Christmas tree or at the bottom of the childrens' bed.

On Christmas Day the children get up very early to see if 'he has been'. After opening their presents families have a special Christmas lunch or dinner. Families also exchange gifts.

On New Years Eve many people have parties with family and friends to see in the new year. Many people let off fireworks too.
